YO ZUSHI NEW XMAS SINGLE(S) posted
on 23 November 2009
In the winter of 2006, the song 'Yo Zushi's Christmas Story' was chosen as the Xposure Big One by John Kennedy (Xfm). Since learning to play the guitar, Zushi has been annually giving friends original Christmas songs in place of cards. This year is no different, 'Another Song di Natale', is an Italian-themed song for the season, complete with sleigh bells and accordions. It was, he says, inspired by his 'near-permanent residence' at the Italian-owned dives and cafes of London's Soho: 'The kind of places where people either play cards or Dean Martin'. Martin is an influence on the song, but filtered through Zushi's '90s lo-fi sensibilities: 'Dylan and the 'Mats aside, I've been largely subsisting on a diet of Pavement, Quasi, Elliott Smith.'
'Another Song di Natale' will be available as a download from Monday 7th December 2009, accompanied by the re-released 'Yo Zushi's Christmas Story.' Visit the pointy shop on this site for details...And to have a listen go here..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wimmz9c3azk
